Manage License Options in IBM SPSS Statistics

To improve your experience using IBM SPSS Statistics, the Version 1 SPSS experts have created various Tech Tips. This Tech Tip looks at the Manage License Options tool in IBM SPSS Statistics. Users often want to know version and license information while working in IBM SPSS Statistics. The Manage License tool will show the version, modules, and license expiration dates.

In IBM SPSS Statistics, you can work inside a single, integrated interface to run descriptive statistics, regression, advanced statistics, and machine learning models. You can create publication-ready charts, tables, and decision trees in one tool. IBM SPSS Statistics is easy to use, provides analysis automation, comprehensive statistical tools, integration with open source, and help at your fingertips.

To use the Manage License options tool, go to the File menu and select Manage License at the bottom of this menu. This will bring up the Manage License dialog box. Users can see Version Information at the top of the window and the license expiration date. For example, to find out what version of Statistics you are using, click on Manage License. At the top of the dialog box, you can see the version of IBM SPSS Statistics. For example, if you see that you have version 25, you know that you are working with a version that is out of support.

Below this information is the More Information button. Clicking on this button runs the show license command and creates a table in the output window. This table will show all the modules contained in your version of Statistics. The table will display the component, expiration date, maximum number of users and maximum release number. Clicking on the Launch License Wizard will launch the licensing tool. Users can choose this option if they want to apply a license. Users can also launch the Commuter Utility Tool and activate their IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription.
